Introduction to Kubernetes ReplicaSet

In this part of our series, we are focusing on Kubernetes ReplicaSet. Just like the previous parts, there will be hand-on practice to allow you to get acquainted with the features and functionalities of a ReplicaSet which include using ReplicaSet to scale applications up or down. This Kubernetes object makes Kubernetes application management easier.

While we have Kubernetes Deployments (which basically abstracts away ReplicaSets), would we ever need to use ReplicaSets directly? Is there any unique use case of ReplicaSets that Deployments are not able to solve?

Deployments are built on top of ReplicaSets, so the answer is “yes, it has unique features” and “no, you don’t need to use them directly”.
